Check out Transformers: Age of Extinction concept art by Warren Manser!

Back when Michael Bay made Transformers he featured to versions of the Chevy Camaro for Bumblebee: the 1977 second-generation Camaro and a fifth-generation concept Camaro. For the new Transformers movie Bay wanted a more "aggressive and muscular" look. The new movie again features two Bublebee cars: a heavily modified vintage 1967 Camaro SS and a futuristic concept Camaro. One of the artists that helped shape that new Bublebee was Warren Maser, who shared some of his designs on his Facebook page.

Warren Manser is a professional concept illustrator who's worked on Hollywood projects like Man of Steel (2012), The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011).

  1. I love Bumblebee, probably my favorite of the entire bunch. I realize they ultimately needed a sexier update but I'm very fond of the original Volkswagen Beetle concept.

My college friend Zander Cannon was the writer for an IDW Bumblebee comic series. He's a VW Bug in that one.

  2. The original Transformers designs are still my favorite A.S., but they always bring a beautiful design to the table. Very cool about your IDW friend! Do you get free comics? ;)
